An intimate ceremony handcrafted and carried across Europe

A Ceremony Handcrafted and Carried Across Europe

Some weddings are unforgettable because of their scale, others because of their meaning. Goda and Karolis’ elopement belonged entirely to the second category.

Travelling from Lithuania to Portugal in their bright orange van, they carried something very special with them: their own wedding arch. The groom built the wooden structure himself, while the bride patiently hand-knotted a macramé backdrop for it. During their long journey across Europe, the arch quietly became part of their story — almost as if they were weaving their vows into it along the way.

When they reached the mountains of Central Portugal, they assembled it together on a breathtaking peak, surrounded by vast landscapes and silence. Against this simple yet deeply personal setting, they exchanged their vows and became husband and wife.

It was a celebration with very few elements, yet full of symbolism — a reminder that the most powerful weddings are often the ones created with intention, creativity, and love.
